Hello all,

This is not directly a MythTV problem, but is affecting my MythTV
experience and seeing as this is the most knowledgeable Linux group I
know of I hope it's ok to ask for help for this one here.

I have 2 Hauppauge Nova-T DVB-T cards in my system and I'm running
Ubuntu/Mythbuntu 10.10

I have the Hauppauge IR received plugged into one of the cards and I've
had it fully set up in MythTV in the past. Some update or other broke it
and I've lived without it for quite a long time now. We have a wireless
keyboard so we use it like a big remote control, but I'd really like to
just get this working again.

In the past, I've followed this guide successfully:
http://parker1.co.uk/mythtv_ubuntu2.php

but the method in there doesn't seem to work any more.

I get as far as getting this information:

I: Bus=0001 Vendor=0070 Product=9002 Version=0001
N: Name="cx88 IR (Hauppauge Nova-T DVB-T"
P: Phys=pci-0000:01:06.0/ir0
S: Sysfs=/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:08.0/0000:01:06.0/rc/rc0/input6
U: Uniq=
H: Handlers=kbd event6
B: EV=100003

But no further.

I believe that there's a different way to go about setting it all up in
newer versions of ubuntu, but can't find any reference to what that it
or how to do it. I have seen another guide online
(http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=183545&highlight=lirc) and the
start of this guide explains that the method is depreciated, but there's
no updated guide.

Does anyone know what the current method to use is?

I still have my myth lirc file waiting to be used, but can't get the
hardware working properly.

The number keys are working at the moment, but little else. What should
I do next?

Cheers
Damian
