I am using the default ip and have the latest firmware's uploaded from
that page as well (though I don't know where to check the hardware #
but I do see the firmware info).

The Comcast tech folks have been calling me back every so often so
they look to be on top of it. The one guy said he'd really like to
figure out how to get it working since he knows others will be calling
in eventually with the same Ceton+linux setup.

so for the time being I'm on call. I hope I don't need a windows
machine though, since, well, I don't have one...
