The answer is posted in another, current, thread and dozens of others...

I work around it.
If dvbscan finds channels,I manually add the freq's and mplex to the 
DB... Usually there are channels already in the DB that don't work, 
encrypted or such, so I replace the freqid and mplexid with known, 
working ones.
Change the xmltvid and Schedules Direct does the rest.
