On the contrary, the project's Gentoo ebuilds come with a script that allows
generation of ones own ebuilds as desired. The current version has the
limitation that it must be run from the root of the overlay, and requires
that you give it a unique tag if you want to generate a new hash from the
same day as your base ebuild.

cd /path/to/your/git/clone/Gentoo/
scripts/mythtv-buildebuild.py --version=0.25
--hash=94bf2f1eed9b274f33d20028fdec582a2d1f4867

Fortunately, the schema was not updated until two commits past where the
current ebuilds are. You are clear all the way back to 94bf2f1eed9b27 on
November 10th, using the command indicated above. Note that the specific
version tied to the current ebuild was for a backend protocol bump, so if
you have multiple machines, they must all be on the same side of that
barrier.

I stand corrected.
He can try the build from the 10th but he wanted to get back to the 2nd. So
he still might need a restore.
