I played around a bit with libva, mostly using vlc and mplayer. I had
some hickups in the kernel, forcing me to reboot, otherwise playback
was fine.

I didn't try this with MythTV. However, I read that libva decoding can
be used with MythTv from git, but deinterlacing is unsupported.
