I managed some experiments last night. The Xcursor.size thing does not  
seem to have any effect but hacking the source of comixcursors.deb got  
me a 128x128 cursor. Unfortunately there are bugs when using it  
(screen corruption in the GUI which I think is down to the Xserver) so  
I'm back to a 64x64 and hardware cursor which works but is a bit too  
small).
