I remember having the same concerns/issues. I finally got it working with
some tweaking of different things. I can't remember what all I did, but
I'll look tonight and post back.

Yes, you can set up a user job to run mythlink for that recording only. I
also have a cron job setup to run mythlink nightly, so that I can clean up
the links to deleted recordings.

I think that is right. I remember playing with that setting too. I'll pull
up my conf file and post it tonight.

I have replaced mythtranscode with my own script based on the transcode
wrapper stub. (Search the wiki). That way I can have myth transcode then
recording first and then run the built-in commercial flagging after
transcoding. Then I have a user job that runs mythlink. (I think). To be
honest I have such a back log of recordings now that it has become
unimportant if it shows up right away. I may actually be getting them on
the Sony the day after recording. (via the cron job I mentioned above).
Again, I'll look tonight. I know I had a user job set up to do that, but
I don't think I have been checking the box to run it.

The cron job is necessary though, otherwise you will end up with a bunch of
links to files that don't exist.
