Apologies for replying to myself, but Myth is now playing Channel 4 HD; 
it stops and restarts ok but seems to have a problem in starting 
initially.  The vlc initial startup is also uncertain and tells me to 
look at the log, which I haven't yet found; then after a few more random 
tries it's ok.  Suggestions?
