[mythtv-users] Video Card Recommendation Needed

With NVidia binrary drivers (which you can get from atrpms) both are
supported. I know that the latest ALSA (1.0.24) also supports HDMI output
for sound on the 430, haven't tried 240. You could get away with a lesser
card if you did not want HDMI sound, but given the price of these cards, you
can't save that much. Between the two cards you listed, 430 is cheaper and
probably faster for MythTV. There may be build quality or component
differences, this particular 430 is low profile and uses smaller fan, 240 is
probably quieter because of a larger fan, but 430 is cooler so it may even
out. Hard to know for sure unless you find a review of this exact model.

I have an EVGA 430 in my MythTV box, and it's quiet and stable.
