Hi;

You mentioned "recent install of mythbuntu" in your
original post.  If that means 10.10 (2.6.35) you may
have this problem:

Checkout the link in the above and look in your syslog to
see if it applies. Also note that its not only the HVR-1600,
but cards that use the cx23885 chip.

I have the HVR-1250 working fine with mythbuntu 10.04
(2.6.32), MythTV v0.25pre-821 for ATSC channels.

It works right 'out of the box'.
