Shrug. 4 Years ago, I put less than an hour of research into finding out
what hardware would be recommended for a decent Myth setup. I had a working
installation of Mythbuntu from the moment the installer said finished. I
used those “useless docs” to do my initial setup and was using it side by
side with my Dish PVR within 2 hours of starting, including installation
time. Sure, I've done plenty of tweaking since then, but it was running and
100% working in less than 2 hours. Can’t help but wonder who all your
troubles comments more on (heh, that says moron) ;) .
FWIW, I do 100% agree with you that the "you get what you pay for" party
line from the open source community is tiresome. Especially for a Linux who
claims to be ready for mainstream.
