Thanks to all for the numbers!!!

This helps me a lot --- basically to sum it up, sounds like my system
is not doing too badly. The hardware right now is:

Athlon X2 5200+ CPU
MSI media live chassis (http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/MSI_Media_Live)
4GB RAM (4x 1GB DDR2-800)
1.5 TB Seagate HDD - partitioned, for OS, mysql, general purpose
file/music/photo share
2TB WD "Green" drive for recordings only
PVR-150 installed in the single PCI slot for SD capture from the cable
box, and an USB IR blaster to control it.

The other tuner is a dual HDHomeRun, but that's not included in my
power measurement.

It idles at ~85w, but I've seen it go up as high as 140 while doing stuff.

I think the answer to my question is: if I want to substantially
reduce that number I have to look toward the atoms, and give up on the
idea of having commflag jobs complete in a anywhere near real time (or
possibly just have it fire up this box when needed). Something to
think about.... I've been looking for a project lately.

One final question: has anyone tried the Via C7-D processors? They
are at a similar price point to the Atom but it seems like they might
be even slower.

Thanks again!
