I have never expected nor implied that I should be afforded special
privileges because of my relationship with SD. I became involved with SD
through email conversations with Daniel Kristjansson, who had taken note
of the manner in which I had dressed down some guy who was demanding to
talk about 'such matters' on this list *as his First Amendment right*.

Pity that poster had not learnt anything in high-school civics class.

Well, that makes lots of sense - NOT.

I do not disagree with the intention of 'the rules'. In fact, given the
"clarity" of the present legal situation, such rules are necessary as a
form of insurance for the devs. (Note: 'clarity' should be printed in
font ironic italic.) And being a little bit paranoid is a good thing
when someone might well be out to get you.

My calling Raymond out for insulting and defaming someone does not make
it more difficult for you.

If you cannot understand the difference between:

politely requesting of someone that they not write certain things or
refer to certain things because of legal implications in another part of
the world, and

calling someone a criminal, then

I would suspect that there is a good possibility that you will, someday,
require the services of a lawyer to attempt to protect you, or reduce
the damages from, your inability to understand the English language.

Did not ask to be, did not ask you to be. And I am not sure that you are
actually in charge, especially of your own emotions. If I were in charge
(note the subjunctive) I would requite you to apologize to the OP for
the manner in which he was accosted.

I recognize the need for rules for your protection. I do not recognize
any need for the defamation of others in supposed support of those rules.

If you cannot respect that other people in the mythtv world are entitled
to be treated with respect, and cannot live amicably with the fact that
sometimes those persons might inadvertently reveal that they can legally
do things which you cannot, and cannot restrain yourself from agreeing
with slander and threatening those who disagree with you, I would ask
that you remove yourself from this community, because you are a danger
to it, due to your impetuous and self-righteous nature.

Now this has gone on long enough. You may not want to listen to me. I do
not wish to listen to you, any longer, as we are making no progress.

At this point, I figure that Raymond Wagner owes Mr.Taskanen an apology.

And I will STFU if you will (but all bets are off otherwise).
