[mythtv-users] Watch TV hangs on Please Wait...

In the last few days, I keep getting "Please Wait ..." when going to Watch
TV.  MythTV successfully records all the schedule programs and allows
playback of the recorded items.  It seems to be just the Watch TV selection
that is not working.

mythfrontend --version reports:
MythTV Version   : v0.24-121-ge6fa6c2
MythTV Branch    : fixes/0.24

mythfrontend.log doesn't show any unusual messages and nothing at the time
Watch TV is selected.

mythbackend.log shows:
