http://code.mythtv.org/trac/ticket/9659 ...  Perhaps that's the same? 

I don't think it is the same, because my computer hardlocks competely, and I can't use pkill. Also I don't see news feeds on the left, it lockups right after executing mythnews.

There is some discussion on the ticket and link to same place I linked upwards, so symptoms are close.
