[mythtv-users] Playback problems in iPlayer HD playback

When I play HD content from BBC iPlayer I have some playback problems. I
don't know enough about it to describe it very well but I see horizontal
lines in the output, like the frames aren't being updated
properly/quickly enough. This happens mainly when there is a more motion
on-screen. I don't think it is a problem with buffering the feed over
the internet as it also happens on programs I have downloaded to BBC
iPlayer desktop. I'm wondering whether my hardware cannot cope with
these videos or if perhaps I have something set up incorrectly.
When I'm viewing standard iPlayer content in the browser, top reports
about 70% CPU usage. For HD content it reports about 150%. Does this
mean I'm not using the Intel integrated on-board graphics?
My system is:
Motherboard: Intel TOM COVE DH55TC
CPU: intel Core i3 530
RAM: 4GB
I'm running Mythbuntu 11.04:
Linux htpc 2.6.38-10-generic #46-Ubuntu SMP Tue Jun 28 15:07:17 UTC 2011
x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
with mythtv version v0.24.1-45-g254c9f7
I have various driver packages installed that as far as I could work out
are for my system such as:
i965-va-driver
Is the onboard graphics chip supported on Linux? Which packages I should
have installed to get the most out of the onboard chip?
Thanks,
John.
