MythTV wasn't trying to sync with Ubuntu, and Mythbuntu is already in sync
with Ubuntu in terms of releasing. What you may be thinking about is we (the
Mythbuntu team) have tried to coordinate with upstream (MythTV devs) to get
releases out in time for Ubuntu releases. This was because we want to have
the latest MythTV release in the latest version of Mythbuntu, but want to
avoid what happen in 10.04 (shipping with a pre-release version of MythTV).

The release would need to be released by Feature Freeze (or be super close)
to make it into Ubuntu. Feature freeze for 11.10 is August 11th.
