I use the "exclude repeat an generic episodes" from mythweb with a fairly high success rate. Although not particularly with CSI.
Are you using xmltv listings or eit? Maybe that makes a difference.
I'm using xmltv and in mythweb I see repeat episodes explicitly marked as (repeat). I've always assumed that this information comes from the listings data, but I could be wrong about that.
