I guess I was unclear. I ran irw to check the name of the button. The
one I want is named "Go".

irw doesn't return any information about what commands are associated in
.lircrc.

Are you sure you have entered the correct name of the button in lircrc?

I have been bitten once or twice by irw reporting e.g. 'Go' and I have mistakenly entered Go in lircrc not realising that the ' and ' was part of the button name. The name is also case sensitive if I remember correctly.

You should find the exact name in lircd.conf. Try copying the name from lircd.conf and paste it in lircrc.
