You might be able to avoid that conflict by ticking the 'only open tuner when 
required' box (or whatever the option is called) in the tuner section in 
mythtv-setup. Doing this might prove useful (or not-so-useful) in other ways, 
too, by not coupling the hardware so tightly to the myth subsystem.
