Install alsa 1.0.24 drivers (earlier version won't work) and alsa
1.0.24 libraries.
Reboot.
Make sure /proc/asound/version shows
$ cat /proc/asound/version
Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.24.

Run mythfrontend -> setup -> general -> audio -> scan for audio device
Then select the proper hdmi device (there may be a few)

If running master; or my 0.24 branch with the audio backport:
mythfrontend -> setup -> audio
select the proper hdmi device. You can immediately test using the
speaker test screen
