Without a lot more parallelisation than currently present in ffmpeg for example and some serious code optimisation for the cell you'd probably get quicker transcoding on an Atom!

Now if you could get access to the video and audio playback libraries, code a new playback method into myth, oh and fix the fact that the PS3 can't play some current h264 streams (BBCHD) and when it can play it crashes an awful lot. Sort all that out and it would make a great, if expensive and power hungry mythfrontend. ;-)

I'd love to use my PS3 as a myth frontend but sadly myth with vdpau left it behind a year or so ago.
