Same problem here.

After reading a few posts and bug reports on the issue, it seems to be
_something_ with Myth's channel scanning. If you attempt to watch live
TV with the HDHR on Myth, the channels will occasionally fail to lock. I
found posts on this subject dating back to at least 2007

http://www.mythtv.org/pipermail/mythtv-dev/2007-May/055356.html

Problem is, it does not appear on everyone's system.

You can scan in the channels with any other application on any OS, and
the HDHR will work just fine. But not so on Myth.

Returned my HDHR and picked up 2 HVR1250's, could not be happier.

Even though, if I allow Myth to scan for channels with the HVR1250's, I
get the same issue.

Result, never let MythTV scan for channels. Instead I use dvb-utils to
create a channels.conf.
