SDV requires "tuning adapters" for devices such as Tivo and
the HDHR Prime and the Ceton InfiniTV. The provider is
supposed to provide them to their customers when asked
(depending the whether the provider is using Cisco or
Motorola equipment, you many need more than one).
Unfortunately, most/all TVs do not have ability to use the
tuning adapters (although for TV's with USB ports, in
theory, it would *just* require a firmware update, which
I am unaware of any manufacturer actually doing).
But the HDHR Prime was designed to support SDV,
so, in theory, it should "just work" (I seem to recall
that Ceton released a number of updates to get
the TAs working correctly, so "just work" may be
an oversimplification in the real world).
