[mythtv-users] AF9015 Dual tuner i2c write failures

I've just bought an AF9015 device off ebay and from an evening of
searching, it seems that my issues are well know.

i'm getting:
af9013: I2C read failed reg:d607
af9015: command failed:1
in mythtvbackend log, which results in tuners not obtaining lock.

the device itself seems fine - it does appear to work by re-inserting the
USB module, which temporarily clears the issue.

however, the information i've found online, some are dated back to 2007 so
alot of the info is old and also convoluted with old versions and various
tests while they worked out a fix... there doesnt appear to be a "heres how
to get it working" post, or it has missing info about what source code to
apply patch files to (or it assumes you have more linux knowledge that i
dont yet have)

does anyone have any notes on getting the AF9013/15 devices working
properly?
