[mythtv-users] Atom/Ion stutter when OSD comes up. Any tuning tips?

That suggests the possibility of disk accesses being required
for the OSD display (images, xml files, ???).  They're slow loading
the first time, but everything is fast if the OSD is used again
while still in RAM.

Leaving it for a while might result in those memory pages being discarded,
which leads to slow/stutter again the next time.

Just a theory, but it fits rather well.

This could be avoided in a few ways, like keeping the OSD elements in RAM
after initial loading (chews up more RAM, but..), or moving them to a flash drive.
