Does the receiver have a solid red LED indicator when your TV is off?
I had interference issues on my setup when my TV brightness was
reduced.  I could use the remote under Windows perfectly fine, but the
Linux drivers for my MCE receiver seemed to be more sensitive to IR
interference.  I solved the interference issue by resetting my TV to
factory defaults.
