By running the UB435-Q once on windows then trying again on Linux you
get further into the driver. I don't know whether this would help in
getting it working. I have applied Jarod's patches to em28xx.

Without any patches the device is not recognized since the product ID is
not in the driver.

After the patches but without having installed the device on Windows, it
gives this output to dmesg

em28xx video device (1b80:e346): interface 0, class 255 found.
em28xx This is an anciliary interface not used by the driver
usbcore: registered new interface driver em28xx
em28xx driver loaded

After having installed once on Windows and then using in on Linux with
the patched driver the device gives this output to dmesg. it is getting
a lot further and actually registers a non-functional device at
/dev/video0. However no dvb device is registered.
