FWIW I compare a radion HD 6770M to an nvidia 8600 (I've not bothered with VDPAU).
We are 50Hz and that causes noticeable flicker on US movies.
I compare ball games, moto GP and F1.

The nvidia is significantly better than the ATI (0.24 fixes, Athlon dual core, 2+G)
