[mythtv-users] How reliable is Commercial skip?

i'm on a fairly recent 0.24 release (updated around 2 weeks ago), and for a
while i've seen commercial skipping not as reliable as i remember it to be.

basically, mythtv seem to miss the first program-start flag (have to
manually fast forward to the start of the program) and the middle advert
break detection seems to work 90% of the time. some channels seem worse than
others.

i have advert detection using all available methods, and is set to 'notify,
no skip', so i have to manually skip the breaks.

is this typical behaviour, or do i need to investigate further?
