Have you confirmed that the card woks under your distro?  Perhaps test
it with a simpler program like "Me TV".  Then decide if you really
want the complexity of MythTV.  Which will work just fine using a pair
of rabbit ears.  My HDHR is connected to a pair and works great on the
stations that come in reliably.  Just know that MythTV is considered
a hobby or enthusiast project by many.  It will take time and effort
to get it working and then the endless tweaking begins.  :)
