[mythtv-users] 3 Mux but recording schedule indicating using 4 tuners?

I recall a number of discussions about the tuner logic and tuner
allocation, with some enthusiastic threads about this. The developers
always (in my view) had the last say as where they'd taken the code was
difficult to improve. (Considering the below makes me wonder if the
tuners might be better to be more floating, "first available" but with
recording priority? It seems when a tuner is locked to a MUX then it
could and should be the source of all channels sought form that mux?)
We have 3 Mux here with all channels here in NZ. With the Rugby World
Cup on the tuners are getting quite some use, as the competing channels
are putting on some good stuff to look to head off the competition(!).
The interesting thing is tonight's recording schedule is specifying
using all 4 tuners. My expectation was that there would never be the
need for the 4th for recording channels, however for some reason the
fourth is now planned to be used, as seen in mythweb, recording
schedules. Would, could or should that be correct?
My backend has 2 PCI Hauppauge WinTV Nova-T 500-HD Dual DVB-T tuner
cards, which I've named D1 to D4. This is mythbuntu 10.04 / mythtv 0.23
fixes 26863, perhaps this has been advanced since? My planning had the
4th Tuner available for Live TV priority, which is fine for one Frontend
(but if two frontend's want Live TV the first commands the Mux, so the
2nd has a limited set of channels available by default).
