Living in Cardiff I often get a lot of issues rescanning as I can also 
pick up Mendip if the wind is blowing in the right direction.

I find this site to be a massive help, as then I can pick the correct 
transports each time:

FInd your transmitter on the map and double click on it, then just scan 
the transports it lists. Also helpful if you find yourself missing a 
couple of channels and need to do a rescan ignoring timeouts, or if a 
new channel appears and you don't want to do a full rescan.
