I haven't noticed any leaking or "popped" capacitors, but that's a good
idea... I'll examine the card more closely. Thanks!

Yep, have re-seated / reconnected things a couple times.

Nothing that I'm aware of. The "household geography" is unchanged. It's
consistent and not affected by time of day, which should rule out lots of
sporadic / intermittent potential sources of interference. I can unplug the
backend and go straight to the TV with no issues (same cable), which should
rule out most/all sources of interference outside the backend node itself.
