I can't see a 750Q on their website, is it a 950Q?

if so is it set up for analogue or digital?

Well you could try watching it with mplayer, seeing you seem to have
that working.

However a digital tuner will NOT produce .nuv files, not sure what the
analogue side of the card will produce as I left analogue behind years
ago.

yes:

1. work your way through the installation, including ALL pages in
mythtv-setup (except system events which you don't need)

2. when asking for help give us some more info. log files. distro.
what you are trying to tune to (the 950Q, if thats what you have) does
(a)NTSC Analog Cable, Over the Air TV
(b)ATSC Digital Over the Air HDTV
(c)Clear QAM Digital Cable TV

Interesting responses. Thank you.

Yep, typo'd the tuner it is a Hauppauge HVR950Q.
TV format is listed as NTSC and I am using an OTA antenna for reception.
It has been my understanding that analogue is no longer being broadcast by
any of the US stations anymore because they all went to digital.
Thus my thinking that analogue is not even an option.

My distro is:
Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description: Ubuntu 11.10
Release: 11.10
Codename: oneiric

I really do not have much in terms of log files to share on this.
Here is what I think might be pertinent from the back end log:

Hope this help out a little. Seems a bit cryptic and not sure what to
provide as background information when asking for assistance.

I will go back through the myth-setup pages again as I have been doing so
over the last several days and see if anything looks out of place.

Thank you for the response Nick.

David
