That was the "extended basic" digital transition
digital to analogue box (aka DTA) for people
to get SD analogue.  Broadcom has recently
created an equivalent HD digital box (which
would be the clear-QAM including rebroadcast
HDTV programming) equivalent (i.e. it is a
cost advantaged, limited capability box), but
I do not know if any cableco is currently offering
it, or at what cost if they are.
