I'm afraid it'll be Wednesday before I can try it, but I will then.
Definitely nvidia drivers, using VDPAU.

(Would have been able to try it before Wed, but I've lost ssh
access to the machine since she's had to swap to a ZyXel router
and I've yet to get port forwarding working).
