First of all, I want to apologise for posting all over the place, from the devs to the tickets and to the users list. I was just trying to follow the flow of original posts. I'll post in the users lists from now on, since this has turned to be a configuration problem and not mythtv's. Although, I may say, that it will might be more common to opensuse users if they upgrade their systems to 12.1 as I did. And my installation is "clean", i.e.the problem starting showing up directly after the installation of the base system + updates + nvidia drivers (290.x, the same version that was working flawlessly on 11.4).
>From my point of view, I am trying to get back a working system. As I have pointed out in previous posts (well, everywhere...), I realise it's something that's changed in the X configuration of opensuse. So far, for me it affects mythtv. I can live with the workaround for now, and if it's an opensuse problem, maybe it will get fixed / modified in the near future. But the other opensuse based programs take the change into account (unless I am completely wrong and it's a random problem on just two people) then mythtv will still be in trouble for OS users.
I don't think you have left me hanging, I honestly think that you are the more supporting of the devs, and that you really try to explain things to us common folk. I say this without trying to offend anyone intentionally or otherwise, it's my personal experience in the lists.
I will try to improve the bug report if someone can point me to the right direction. Although I am a linux user for a long time, the fine details of the programs interoperability escape me beyond a point. I can use google, of course, and if someone - like Gavin (Beirdo) has done in the users' list - asks the right questions, I can try to provide the answers.
To cut a long story short, I'd appreciate any help in solving this.
Best regards,
Yianni.
