Hello guys,
I am building a new backend. I finished installing CentOS 6.2 Final, and
then got the 0.25-fixes from GIT.

Under mythtv, i am trying to do "./configure --prefix=/usr" and it gives me
the following error:

[root at mythbe mythtv]# ./configure --prefix=/usr
g++ is unable to create an executable file.
Check your ECXXFLAGS: [ ]
If g++ is a cross-compiler, use the --enable-cross-compile option.
Only do this if you know what cross compiling means.
C++ compiler test failed.

If you think configure made a mistake, make sure that you are using the
latest
version of MythTV from git. If the latest version fails, report the
problem to the
mythtv-dev at mythtv.org mailing list or IRC #mythtv on irc.freenode.net
Include the log file "config.ep" produced by configure as this will help
solving the problem.

I am thinking I must be missing a few packages. I tried to look on the
documentation but there isn't a "check list" of sorts that I can find (or
maybe I didn't look at the right place).

In either case, can someone please point me to the right direction or help
me out? I am not really a linux guru but have been working with CentOS for
some time -- I can get around...

I appreciate your help.

Regards

Ash
