I'm not sure quite what you are describing but maybe it's that the 
keyframe stays visible as a background when you move away from it.  If 
so IMHO it's probably a video driver setting.  Mine's nvidia, but maybe 
you should investigate  settings for 'blitting' or 'flipping'.
