OK, so you want me to run one of the files I've transcoded that is exhibiting this behacior through it, correct?

Correct, all my Nvidia cards are using VDPAU profiles.  So do you want me to try viewing a damaged file on one of my Nvidia frontends using a non VDPAU profile, or is the fact that the behavior presents on my laptop with the Intel graphics enough of an indication that it's present in both hardware and software encoders?
