[mythtv-users] Program information after Mythtranscode

Hi,

I've just been playing with Mythtranscode to try to free up some disk space and I've noticed a couple of 'oddities' that I couldn't find mentioned anywhere.

The recordings are DVB-S/MPEG-2, that I'd like to perform a lossless transcode on. There are no adverts but I tried creating a cut-list to remove the pre and post-roll stuff so that I'm left with just the program I wanted.

After transcoding, the duration shown in the 'Watch recordings' screen is still the old duration. Is this currently just calculated from the start and end times of the original recording?

Also, transcoding strips the subtitles from the DVB-S stream. Although I'd rather keep them, I can live without them. However, the 'subtitles available' icon is still shown. Is there any way of some how re-parsing the file to update the database with the new contents?

Is there any way of getting mythccextractor to use the cutlist? That would at least open up the possibility of extracting the subtitles and then merging them into the transcoded file with some other third-party app.

Richard.
