As far as MythTV is concerned, most people on this list seem to prefer
Nvidia based graphics cards, which support VDPAU video playback
acceleration.  You can get by with a much cheaper card which will work
better for video playback.  1GB of memory on the card is usually more
than enough.  You'll want to make sure that you select a model that
does not require a fan.
