I'm not sure if this is due to your use of the a52 plugin (I have
never used it myself)

Myth expects the ALSA device to be blocking (which is the default ALSA
behaviour) ; that is, it doesn't exit until is has finished processing
the data passed on to it (e.g. it's been played)

By the look of things, it seems that with yours, it isn't. So that
throws off any A/V sync calculations performed. the player thinks that
all audio has already been played, and is trying to make video catch
up by dropping video frames.

But honestly.. I'm not sure why you bother going that way. If you are
using a digital output device, it's most likely that your amp have a
HALL mode or something similar, where stereo audio will be played on
all speakers.

Just disable myth upmixer and let the amp do it.

You'll achieve a better result and not waste your time.
