LOL. Why don't you just pull off this feat of magic for me, because here's
my particular case:
Discovery channel has a series called curiosity. It's basically a series of
shows on various topics that are all different but have a similar style to
them. Now, on their website, all of these different shows are all
considered part of the curiosity series. And in their TV commercials they
refer to all of these shows as part of the curiosity series. And when the
show starts they introduce it as part of the curiosity series. However, in
the guide data, after the first half dozen or so episodes aired they
stopped labelling the shows as curiosity. As far as the guide data is
concerned, they are just a bunch of totally unrelated specials.
So I contact schedules direct to report this problem, they contact tribune
to report the problem, tribune contacts Discovery to investigate, and
Discovery says "nope, that guide data is correct". Tribune says "sorry,
nothing we can do if Discovery insists that is correct". SD asked Tribune
to attempt to get Discovery to change their mind and label it
appropriately. That was over a year ago, and the show is still titled
incorrectly. And I'm not the only one to report this. TiVo customers have
complained about the same issue, to no result.
So please tell me how you believe I should invest my time into fixing this
instead of just creating a damn rule that records any show in genre
"special" on the appropriate channels at the appropriate times?
