Yeah, LIRC has already moved to a standard LIRC namespace. Still for
anything more than simple media players (i.e. for MythTV as opposed to
MPlayer or xine), without knowing exactly which buttons (and how many)
are available on a remote, finding the appropriate mapping of those
buttons is impossible--which is why you will need per-remote
configurations for MythTV (whether they be ~/.lircrc or MythTV key
bindings themes).
