if you have a motorola settop box you can. change to a channel you're curious about. press power then select within three seconds of it turning off. go into "current channel status". check the hex value of the cci flag there.
0x00 = Copy freely
0x01 = Copy No More
0x02 = Copy Once
0x03 = Copy Never (usually pay per views are set this way)
0x04 - Content is Copy Once for digital content.
0x07 - Content is Copy Never for digital content.
for mythtv...if it's anything other than 0x00, you're hosed.
