The workaround here is to use mythtranscode from 0.25.    In my case, I
compiled mythtv 0.25/fixes from source and then just copied the
mythtranscode executable over the existing 0.26 one.   (after making a
backup, of course)

I tried using it with my patched mythburn.py script to verify, but sadly
the projectx fixes I applied also break the mythtranscode method.  (e.g.
the use of "mv2" file extensions).    But the mythtranscode part itself
works.
