Stephen,
     I just re-read your email and saw the phrase "So for that tuner and 
channel ...". Using a configuration file option and matching against a 
recordings tuner and channelwould be far safer than my first suggestion 
of using a command line switch. It is slightly more complex adding that 
code but I think it is by far better.
