I have one similar to this.  It's an SMK USB IR receiver.  Essentially, the
are made by the same manufacturer.. :)

It works great with Linux + lirc + mythtv, and the kernel happily auto loads
the mceusb module.

I have been unable to get it to wake a system from suspend mode with it, though.
